A New month ...New Goals...oh such beauty....

Inner beauty:


I’m always working on my inner and outer beauty. Simultaneously… Lol… With the change of season I do a personal assessment of self and go from there…

I am a spiritual person but not religious. I am not the girl you will catch at Sunday service, but you may find me meditating on the park bench in the early a.m with a trail of incense wafting through the air if you know what I mean.
Now, I ain't knocking Sunday service, I just wasn’t raised in the church, though I have a strong passion, faith and love for the higher power …
I believe that we all have a piece GOD within and I never knock another bella’s religious /spiritual views or lack thereof....

Lately I have treated my inner goddess like the big sis I never had…She tells me things mama never told me and holds me like no man can…a true home girl …So I proceed with caution & go with gut !

Here is some advice my inner Goddess gave me that I will hold my self to in October:

*Wake early …. Get dressed from mascara to footwear then procede with the day beautifully…stop falling short on personal self keep…


*Be fierce with out fighting ....silence is a powerful weapon especially when paired with a smile :)


*Be strong but don’t hurt a fly because karma is a bold ass bitch who carries bullets and I want to live!


*Compete with self only …Improve self and banish self doubt ….and even then 'let it do what it do and just be… because natural is also beautiful…though neglect is not! Remember the fine line!


*Confidence is sexy …and can be worn alone…

In regards to my outer beauty:


This fall I will:

Wear glasses again…I love my cat eye frames….screams vintage

Moisturize my hair until it produces super-natural sheen that makes you question my bloodline...lol
Wear a sexy cat eye, or try a new makeup look everyday and take vain and fancy pics

Throw on chunky jewelry …

Make some funky jewelry

Buy cowgirl boots and find the perfect pair of lace up booties,

Invest in sexy leggings and more work clothes

Tell hubby I want leather pants and more lacy sleepwear

Thrift. Shop. I plan check out the Goodwill in Stamford, CT for obvious reasons.

Hit the gym …for obvious reasons

It's fall...I'm changing with the season...

I like to create playful looks on others, but admit I have not found anything that really suits me yet.

I have been playing around with more colors lately though and getting braver as I go…

I do love color and I think black women look great with the rights colors on their lids and lips…I also feel it does not take much to make us look overdone.Since we are already blessed with such beautiful natural hues we must be careful not to look to ashy, fake, shiny ,scary, or trashy, or clownish...That can be a challenge…So although I like to splash on color on models and paint on bright bold looks for the catwalk, I tend to go neutral and light on my self …

But lately , I have been trying to figure out just how bold I will let my self go. It’s Fall ….a great time for change ….

I’m loving this …Have I found the bag of my dreams? This baby looks sweet. Butter sweet. And I don’t care if it doesn’t match a thing I got on! It’s sexy and sweet and screaming my name !!!!! Ok, Okay! Its 50$...the frugal girl in me wants to know where I can find something similar for a fraction of the cost.
Then there is a part of me that is just like “LIVE BITCH!” and buy it! So I’ll let you know what I decide to do….hmmmm…

Lately I've had lashes on my mind...I'm interested in becoming certified for Lashes. What you think? Yes, we go over this in beauty school yes, but a few hours just doesn't seem like enough time to really grasp the correct way to apply and maintain lashes for beauty and health ...There is a one day class in CT offered in November….Yea, little ole CT!! So I'm tempted to invest...
Question is: Is this a necessary step? Makes me more marketable, no? I meet many women of color who wear lashes and forgo make-up entirely…Many can pull this look off with out make-up, of course!!! It’s just a weave on yah eyelids in theory!!! So I say, as long as you have the clear, smooth skin to pull it off with, and you ensure that your lips are soft and smooth and sexy , your gonna look like a classy, modest vixen and you’ll definitely pass in my book….
I’m thinking It’s a service to all my ladies who won’t wear make up but love to wear a mini- weave on their eyelashes…Why pay some one else when they can pay me for lovely lashes??? hmmm, some thing to think about …I mean a little certification and professionalism behind the lash glue can’t hurt right ?…Opinions?

Now, in regards to my makeover a couple weeks ago. It was great and I am late on posting pics
(excuses; excuses) only because I am trying to stay a busy MUA, homeschooling my highschooler has started, I have picked up a few extra hours at work, I’m currently potty training “Mini Me” and I’m slowly building a business sooooo there you have it …So .... Please let me off the crusty hook for now….
I’m not only a MUA ( make-up artist), I’m also a W.I.P ( work in progress) …LOL …real talk …and Cheers to us (you & me kid) when we get to the top !!! OH, AND WE WILL GET THERE !
